ARTillery Poetry Slam
A spoken word night with more edge than most, local Melbourne poets will debate, weave and wax lyrical around the theme ‘Freedom of Expression’ at Footscray’s Dancing Dog Café. After workshopping poems in a session with Melbourne slam veterans, up-and-coming poets will blow you away in this once-only showcase event. Esteemed slam poets Joel McKerrow (“an exceptional spoken word artist...fiercely political and humane” – Steve Koyczan) and Luka Lesson (a slam poet and powerful Hip-Hop Emcee with a social consciousness) from the Centre for Poetics and Justice will judge the event and open the night.
